Number of Periods related to Alarms and Notifications

When using the Number of periods in the rules for an Alarm and Notification, if we set the period to say 1 hour, we are noticing that most of the notifications happen right at the top of the hour.  This got us thinking of how the period data is being grouped.

Does that mean that the data is grouped by the hour 0,1, 2, etc, ie fixed 1 hour buckets.

Or is it a rolling/sliding 1 hour period, like 00:00-01:00, 00:01-01:01, 00:02-01:02, etc?

  Yes, the data is grouped by the hour (fixed 1 hour buckets).
