AnsweredIs there any documentation that describes exactly what 'unassociated part numbers' are.
Also, I need to know how to delete an entry in the unassociated part numbers list.

Hi Gary
Unassociated Part numbers is a list of all Part numbers which is not included in any Product group. You are correct that this should be mentioned in the help file. We will add it for the next release.
So to remove a Part number from this list, you would have to make sure it's included in at least one group.Comment actions -
Could you add the functionality to allow an unassociated part number enrty to be deleted from the list without needing to associate it with a product group?
Our list of unassociated part numbers currently has 33 entries, some of which were put there by people testing out what can be done. It will be quite time consuming associating these 33 entries to a group then deleting them.

The Unassociated Part numbers list is based on Part numbers from the reports processed by WATS.
There are two ways of removing an Unassociated Part number:
1. You include it in a Product group (at which point it is no longer an Unassociated Part number, because its associated to the Product group it was assigned to). If the Part numbers you are trying to remove was just used as a test, and is not really production data, this obviously is not desirable.2. The other way to remove the Part number, is to make sure it is not present in any report. That would mean removing all reports which has the specific Part number. Deleting reports can be done in the Test reports and Repair reports modules in the Reporting application.

You should not have to delete it. If the Part number is included in a Product group, it should disappear from the Unassociated Part numbers list automatically. If this is not the case, I would suggest sending a support ticket to support@virinco.com, (preferably with screenshots) and we can take a look at it.
