Pending reports in client update

I had pending reports, but I was not able to send them because connection to server did not work due to server version update. I updated the client (from version 4.2.* to 5.1.*) and the connection to server is working now, but it seems like I have lost the pending reports.
Why did not the new client detect pending reports? Are the pending reports now completely lost?
I highly appreciate all the answers.

What Client version did you use? If you use the latest client, the 4.2 files should be uploaded to the server.
