In some cases missing information in an incoming UUT report, can be handled by the converter adding the missing information from converter parameters. A good example of this, if when using Test Stand with no WATS AddOn installed, fields like Test Operation among others will not be available.
A typical way to solve this, is to add the Test Operation as a converter parameter, and simply enter the desired value in the converters parameter list. In cases where incoming reports don't necsesarily all belong to one test operation, this can be achieved by installing multiple converters, with individual settings, monitoring uploading from different folders.
Adding a second Standard Converter to your WATS Client
To add a second standard WATS converter to your WATS Client, open the WATS Client from the system tray by selecting Configure and then select the menu option converters. The drop down box on the top of the window will show all installed convertes, including WSTF, WSXF, WSJF and the ATML importers, in addition to any custom converters.
Changing converter properties
By selecting a converter from the list and clicking the parameters button, the converter parameters will be listed below, like displayed in the screenshot below. In this case it is the ATML converter. Any parameter that is not included in the imported file will get its value from this list.
Adding a second ATML converter
In cases where you have incoming reports from different test operations, or that will differ in any of the other converter parameters, this can be solved simply by adding a new converter with a new set op properties, reading reports from a different file folder.
To add a second instance of a converter:
- Click the Add Converter button
- In the Setup tab, give the converter a Name
- For the Assembly, click Browse, and locate the .dll containing your converter
* The standard converters are located in the file Virinco.WATS.Converters.Standard.dll which is usually located in C:\Program Files\Virinco\WATS - Select the converter class from the Class drop down list.
- Select Input Path, Filter and the post process action and press apply.
- Enter the Parameters tab and enter the new parameters for your second converter.
