The Asset module lets you define all your test assets, arrange them into groups and monitor their status in terms of how many times they have been used, and when calibration and maintenance is due.
In the WATS application, you can edit your assets and view current status, and by using one of our APIs or Add-Ons you can integrate your test-sequences to both increment the counters, and receive warnings and status-changes to the assets in use.
Creating New Assets
Click the New asset button in the ribbon to create a new asset.
Asset Types
The limits for running and total count is set in each asset type. You can edit the settings for your existing Asset Types, or add new ones using the button Manage Types from the ribbon. You will also find the asset types in Control Panel > System & Assets > Asset Types. Here you can specify running and total count limits, and the calibration and maintenance intervals for assets of each asset type. You can also specify thresholds for warnings and alarms. Permissions to Asset Types can be set through Roles and permissions.
Tags
Assets supports Tags that can be used to identify the asset. You can choose from predefined tags or create custom ones. You can use tags to identify you assets when accessing them using our APIs.
Files
Attach files directly to assets for enhanced documentation and references.
Log
The log-tab simply shows a log of all changes to the asset.
Counters & limits
The asset-monitoring in WATS rely on four different counters. The running count and total count, lets you monitor how many runs/tests/passes have been run on the asset, while the calibration and maintenance are counting down a configurable number of days until calibration/maintenance.
Running count
For the running count you can set a limit that defines the durability of one run. When this limit is exceeded you will be warned, but allowed to reset the counter (in line with internal routines) unless the total count limit is reached.
Total count
Total count defines the total amount of tests/runs/passes that should be allowed with this asset. Once the limit is reached you will be alarmed. The total counter can not be reset.
Calibration
Calibration displays days since last, and days until next calibration is due. The number of days between calibrations is set in the Asset type. To have full control, it gives you the ability to reset the last calibration date and time.
Maintenance
Maintenance displays days since last, and days until next maintenance is due. The number of days between maintenances is set in the Asset type. It also includes the ability to reset the last calibration date and time, giving you more control.
