WATS has multiple data centers to meet the performance and data needs of our customers. Each of these data centers contains one or more Pods (points of delivery). Your WATS account (standard cloud) shares common network and system resources with other WATS customers in a given Pod.
About Pods
You can think of a Pod as a highway where each car is one WATS account on the road. Just as the highway provides shared infrastructure like lightning, security rails, water drainage and ramps for each section, a Pod provides the security, network, application, and database services shared by multiple WATS accounts on that Pod. More information about the technical infrastructure.
How do I learn what Pod I am on?
You can confirm your Pod by navigating to the Overview tab on your WATS' Account settings page.
Can I specify the Pod my WATS account is hosted on?
No, your account is automatically assigned a Pod at signup. However, we do occasionally need to "load balance" certain accounts to other Pods to improve performance, as needed.
