Data archiving in WATS goes through the following process by default:
UUT and UUR reports are uploaded and stored as XML in a BLOB. Header information and steps used for analytics in WATS are then extracted from the reports and placed in the data warehouse and database.
Archiving stages
Next, the data has three "stages" for storage/archiving:
- Hot: Stored in data warehouse as normal. Default duration: 0 to 2 years.
- Cold: Stored in database and is not aggregated. Default duration: 2 to 5 years.
- Archived: Steps are removed from storage, but retained in the BLOB. Default: After 5 years.
If part of a dataset is either cold or archived, a symbol will indicate this. Users should be aware that historical data for analytics may be incomplete or missing when these symbols appear.
Note: The UUT and UUR reports, and their header information, will not be removed by default. You can still see yields and locate the reports using Test Reports and Repair Reports, regardless of date.
Furthermore, all other data will not be removed. This includes asset information, root cause tickets etc.
