End of support for the *.skywats.com URL

The *.skywats.com certificate expires on Thursday January 30rd 2025 at 10:13:11 AM and will not be renewed.

*For some selected customers *skywats.com will be available for a limited extended period.

WHY?

When Virinco launched the WATS product as a cloud service, it used the skyWATS.com domain for its cloud services. Since then, Virinco has moved the cloud service to the WATS.com domain. To reduce maintenance and increase security, after Thursday January 30rd 2025, the skyWATS.com domain will no longer be in operation.

WHAT IS THE IMPACT FOR YOU AS A CUSTOMER?

All services will continue as normal, except all connections with WATS Cloud services must use the *.WATS.com domain (not *.skywats.com). This means WATS Client service address, restAPI connection strings and accessing the web applications located at accountname.wats.com. 

HOW SHOULD YOU PREPARE FOR THIS?

For continued and unaffected services change the URL to *.wats.com on all WATS Clients, restAPI connections or URL pointers to the web apps. Virinco will also release a WATS Client version that automatically will change the service address from *.skyWATS.com to *.WATS.com

Update: Starting from WATS Client version 6.1.116, when updating the client, it will automatically change the connection service address from *.skyWATS.com to WATS.com if it can connect to WATS.com. If not (for instance blocked in firewall), it will continue to use skyWATS.com. Please make sure your client(s) can connect to the *WATS.com domain.

If your firewall (or other security settings), source code or applications is configured to use the skyWATS.com domain, change this to use the WATS.com domain.
