The step details view lets you investigate the actual measurements from one or more steps in detail. The view consists of four parts: a step list displayed as a tree-view to the left, the header, the chart options panel as well as the measurement chart.
The Step List
The step list shows a list of all available steps in the selected data set. Every step is displayed showing the step name, as well as step status metrics. (Passed, Failed, Error, Terminated, Skipped, and Unknown). By hoovering over a steps status metrics, you can see a pop-up summary of the step.
Each step in the step list has a checkbox displaying which steps are currently being displayed. By checking one or more of the steps, and clicking Analyze Selected, you will refresh the view with the selected steps displayed. By clicking the step name, you will reload the view, with only the selected step visible.
By clicking the Selected measurements button (on the top of the step list) you can see which steps currently being analyzed. Here you can remove steps, select top 10 failing, clear all steps and scroll to the selected step in the step list. Click Analyze selected to apply changes.
Displaying Multiple Steps Simultaneously
Although it is some times useful to investigate the measurements of multiple steps simultaneously, and WATS lets you look at up to 20 steps at a time, this is rarely practical. We advice that you investigate the data for individual steps, or a few at a time when steps are related, of comparable data types, and suspected of affecting each other.
In the repost header, you can see a short summary of the data set displayed, containing metrics for passed and failed tests, time-consumption, step-type and time-period. A timeline displays a chart of passed and failed steps. Here you can also Loop Iteration, and which runs to display.
The measurement path is stated under the step-name. Please note that the path is displayed without the root sequence name, which is MainSequence Callback. When using the path as a parameter (IE: for the Measurement dashboard widget) you need to include the root step. The complete path for the above measuerement will be: MainSequence Callback/PowerUp Test/Measure AC Voltage. When using the REST-API, replace the slash(/) with a paragraph mark(¶). For rest-calls the path for the above measurement would be: MainSequence Callback¶PowerUp Test¶Measure AC Voltage.
The print-button takes you to your browser print-dialog to print the view.
The options button lets you configure the visual representation of the chart.
Chart Options Panel
In the Chart Options Panel, you can choose to group the measurement chart by a range or properties. In addition you can chose settings for X-axis, open a report overview, export the data to Excel and see more statistics about your data set.
Group By, and X-Axis Settings
By selecting a property to group by, you can inspect the data in groups based on this property. How the grouping is visualized, depends on the setting of the X-axis property.
Line: Measurements will be plotted contiguously from first to last, with even spacing between the plots. Using group by with this setting will display different groups in different color.
Time (UTC Start): Using the time setting will plot the measurements from first to last, but displaced according to time-stamp. Using group by with this setting will display different groups in different color.
Grouped Line: This setting splits the x-axis into one section for each property group selected in the Group By drop-down. If you group by revisions and have data from 2 revisions in my dataset, the chart will be split showing a separate chart for each revision.
Box: Displays the data as a box plot.
The option Failed meas. lets you display or hide the failed measurements from the graph. This can be useful if your want to inspect the baseline or trends in the passed test, without the failing outliers making the chart hard to read.
The measurement chart displays the actual measurements as a line plot (depending on your data-type and settings). The chart has two parts, one chart showing the measurements, and one showing the normal distribution of the data.
From the legend at the top of the chart you can see, and hide different elements of the chart. The measurements are plotted in blue. The horizontal lines in red marks the high and low limits, the dark blue ones mark +/- 3 standard deviation. You also have options for zooming and panning. While hoovering over the chart, you can zoom by using the mouse wheel.
By hoovering the mouse over the measurement plot, you can see a short summary of the measurement data for the individual measurements. Clicking it will open the UUT report.
